Interhigh Spain is fully owned and managed by The International School Estepona and uses the teachers of Interhigh UK for the core academic subjects. Details of The Teachers can be found below. Sports, PE, Drama and other activities are done at The Intenational School Estepona’s existing facilities.

After graduating with a BSc from Nottingham University and an MSc in Management from Birmingham University, I worked in a variety of senior management positions in the UK Manufacturing Industry for 12 years.

I then changed careers, undertook a PGCE and taught Physics and IT for 8 years at  secondary school level. It was during this time that I realised there was a need for a new way of learning created Inter High School. After two years of preparation, the school opened in September 2005. Thanks to the hard work of staff and students Inter High School  has developed into a successful school where a fresh relationship with learning is available to all.

Before working for Interhigh School I spent most of my career in the building design industry. I studied Architecture at Nottingham University, where I met Paul. Later, in 1991, I started studying  part time for my postgraduate degrees, first an MSC in Management at Glamorgan and then an MA in Town and Country Planning at Bristol. I continued to work as a Project Manager on large building development projects until 2005.

I had been involved in the design of the internet school and during the first year of Interhigh took on the administrative part of the school. Later in the same year the school became a non-profit making organisation and I became a Director. I work full time in the Interhigh school office keeping all the school classrooms running and planning the future development of Interhigh. Interhighmail, The Common Room, The school plays, the Yearbooks, Myinterhigh, the Interhigh Weekend, have been some of the developments since 2005. Future plans include modernised classroom software, Interhigh chat, Extra Interhigh and much more.

I am very proud of Interhigh school and all the wonderful pupils and their families that we have met since we opened.

My name is Jenny Pickering, people call me Jen.  My life has been a very busy and active one to date and I wish I could share everything with you but there just isn’t enough time!  So, I have chosen a few moments to paint a clearer picture of me with a few highlights now and then.

I attended The Urdang Academy of Ballet and Performing Arts in Covent Garden, London at the early age of 11.  From here, I auditioned for the Royal Ballet School Cechetti Scholarship and was successful which led me to eventually take my teacher examinations. I moved to America in my twenties and lived in Louisiana and Southern California working for Canon Cameras in marketing but always teaching dance at nights as well. 

I came back to the United Kingdom in the year of 2000 and continued to go back into full-time dance teaching which eventually led me to opening my own small business of teaching at primary and secondary schools.

I moved to South Wales almost 3 years ago and happily live in a small village now called Llangattock with my husband Jon and 10 year old son Ryan.  I work with Jacqui and Paul at InterHigh and look after all the pupils in the classes to make sure everyone is happy and secure whilst providing a warm environment for everyone to learn in. I also arrange lots of the Extra Curricular activities and we have even had dance lessons on the internet! This Year I have also taken on the coordination the pupils Yearbook which is very challenging.

My first degree was in Politics, Philosophy and Economics but I had gained Maths at A Level and when my sons were tiny, I kept my brain cells going by studying Maths with the Open University. I suppose the order and regularity of Maths  was a good antidote to the chaos produced by two very lively toddlers. I have been tutoring Maths for 21 years in Guildford and have worked in a variety of local schools and colleges, in  both the state and private sectors.

I have also worked in computing and data analysis, doing  specialist public relations research for Echo International, database design for DEFRA and teaching IT to adults and children in further education classes.
In 1992, on Beaujolais day, my book ‘PC Computing for Absolute Beginners’ was published by Sigma Press, so it has seemed very natural to put together my experience of teaching Maths with new internet technology.
In my spare time, I read, write children’s stories, dance, knit and cook organic food and walk the Surrey countryside

Hi  I'm Jessica Williams and I teach KS3 Science and Maths at Interhigh. I graduated from Southampton University with a 1:1 honours degree in Physiology and Psychology before completing my PGCE at Cambridge University. I started my teaching career as a Biology teacher at a successful grammar school where I taught KS3 Science and BIology GCSE and A'level as well as being Head of Year 7.

I left to have a family, having 3 children in 3 years! During this time I have also undertaken KS3 and A' Level examining, private tuition and been an on line mentor for a government led scheme for teenagers not in school.
It's been a busy but exciting few years and my adventure continues through Interhigh, taking education to a new and innovative level.

I gained my first degree in Chemistry at Tianjin Normal University in China, I then went on to teach at the university for 3 years before coming to England to study at Oxford University. After gaining a DPhil in Organometallic Chemistry, I did research in the different areas of Chemistry for a number of years. I then trained at Brunel University to become a secondary Science teacher. After teaching at a local secondary school for a few years, I joined Interhigh in 2006 and have been teaching here ever since.

I got a degree in Maths and Computing when computers were HUGE and the input was on stacks of cards! I qualified as a teacher in the docklands area of London. Then I  moved to the Essex /Suffolk border to bring up my son and daughter. While they were little, I acted as a supply teacher in the local secondary school, teaching maths, but also humanities, science, Rural Science (chickens, pigs and growing things!) and even did a stint of woodwork!
Then I was offered a part-time job at a local prep school, and my children came too. I set up a proper science department, started to introduce computers as well as teach Geography and Maths. I stayed there for a long while, but then had the chance to teach A level maths at the local FE college. I created the opportunity to experiment with an innovative Maths course. It uses real data and computers to explore the world for those who do not need or want classical A level maths. I stayed until we moved again, to Central Wales. Looking around for something to do, I discovered InterHigh was just down the road – in Welsh terms of distance anyway! I started being their supply teacher, but now teach Humanities and Maths. It is one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs I have ever had. When the computer is not behaving, I tear my hair out, but mostly it is really good fun!

I've been teaching History, Geography, and English at Interhigh since December 2005, and I love it!  What has been an eye opener for me is  that teachers and pupils can develop a close working relationship despite the fact that we are miles apart.  Somehow or other an extra sense kicks in!  Although born, raised, and educated in Ireland I have been living in the UK for many years and have taken every opportunity to travel the world and experience many cultures.  I am married with two daughters, Julie and Laura, who are pursuing their own careers in the Sciences and who also love travelling. My most recent qualification is an MA in English Literature where my dissertation was on the little known Irish writer, Gerald Griffin. Of one thing I am sure - we never stop learning.

Born in France, I have always worked in education and  have been teaching languages for over 25 years. I first taught English as a foreign language in France, then moved to Cardiff, Wales, in 1992.
Since then, I have worked in a secondary school as a French teacher and taught French to adults. Five years ago, I went back to university to prepare for and take my PGCE Secondary.
I started teaching at Interhigh in September 2006 and absolutely love this new way of teaching. It is exciting and I like the fact that we have a special connection with the pupils. Vive Interhigh!

I am an experienced Spanish tutor able to develop students towards cognitive and academic language.  I am a very energetic teacher with specialist skills, working with adults and children who have learning difficulties. I consider myself a committed worker who gains great fulfilment from empowering less able students.I have 12 years of teaching experience.

I started my ‘alternative’ teaching career with dogs and their owners some twenty years ago, and it taught me a great deal, so I then went on to qualify as a state sector teacher in post compulsory education. Oddly enough, instead of adults, I have spent all my time teaching young people  - probably because they make me laugh.

I graduated with a degree in English, I thought I was hopeless at maths and not much better at geography, and have ended up, to my astonishment, teaching both. I also work with children who have learning difficulties for the LEA, as a Home Tutor.

I live on a smallholding in West Wales surrounded by dogs, a cat, chickens, a mad goat, a demanding cockatoo and interesting neighbours. With the Preseli Mountains down the road to clamber about in and the sea to canoe in I am a contented soul. 

I have taught students aged 11 – 19 in a variety of schools and colleges in the subjects of humanities, general science, chemistry, biology, and psychology. I believe it is important to treat each student as an individual and to recognize that each has his or her own style and pace of learning.  I am based in East Sussex though have worked in Birmingham and the West Midlands during my career.  I am currently writing an educational novel based around a beauty spot on the South Downs.  I also design and make mosaics. 

My first degree was in English from Bathspa University.  I graduated with a distinction and then won funding from the British Arts & Humanities Council for a Masters Degree in The Body & Representation (looking at human & animal body representation in English Literature/Cultural Theory).  I received a distinction.

I am currently working on a PhD in Literary Metamorphosis from Human to Animal for which I received an internal bursary from Bathspa University.  During the course of my PhD I have attended an MRes course on Metamorphosis at London Consortium and have recently given papers at academic conferences - Reading Uni - Mind/Body Conference; A.S.L.E (Association for Literature & the Environment) post grad conference Glasgow; and A.S.L.E International biennial conference - Edinburgh. I have given guest lectures on Ovid and also taught undergraduate seminars on an  'Animal Writes' course at Bathspa.

I have been tutoring English from primary to A Level since 1999 - in UK, Norway and USA.  I home-schooled my daughter for a year and I have also worked extensively with a home-school pupil with special educational needs.
I co-teach a primary drama group and have organised and run drama workshops in Shakespeare for primary and A-Level groups.  I recently studied for my PTTLS in 2008.
